Science Communication Presentations

You will complete 2 scientific communication projects, each worth 20% of your final grade. Your project can take the form of an infographic, video, or a presentation. You may work alone or in small groups. The presentations will cover an exotic sensory ability of an animal. Functions will cover touch, taste, and smell senses. Presentation #2 will cover the vestibular system (not covered in class, but it's in the textbook).

For each project, you will be required to do the following:

• Write a 2-3 page paper explaining what the exotic sense is and how the exotic sense helps the animal survive its environment. You will compare and contrast the relative merits of the exotic sensory system compared to the human system and will include a table detailing yo addition to writing about it). You must include at least 2 peer-reviewed papers in your paper and use APA format for both in text reference page.
• Create either a one-page infographic OR a 3-5 min video on your topic that will be shared with the class. Be sure to include your sources from your paper somewhere on your infographic or in your video.
